Shoal came about as a set of impulsive brush marks on a small piece of paper. As I went, I attemped to harmoize the brush strokes, building upon what I’d set down. After finishing, I retrospectively called it Shoal, as the interplay between the shapes looks like a shoal of fish amongst coral.
Sold as a limited edition mounted print, produced from an ultra-high-resolution scan of the original 2021 gouache painting.
The scan captures every layer of texture and marks across the surface of the work.
Each print is produced on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a fine art paper chosen for its exceptional surface quality and archival stability.
